Oakview Appraisals is a full-service commercial and agricultural real estate appraisal firm operating primarily in Southwestern Ontario. We take pride in helping banks, credit unions, lawyers, accountants, farmers and other clientele by equipping them with the research and knowledge required to make sound and informed real estate decisions.
Primarily based out of Chatham-Kent, with a London-Middlesex satellite office, Oakview Appraisals provides services across Southwestern Ontario (travelling across Ontario for specialized appraisal requests as required).

Dan Laven, B.COMM, AACI, P.APP
Owner & Principal of Oakview Appraisals
Dan is the owner and principal of Oakview Appraisals, which provides expert agricultural and commercial appraisals across Ontario, specializing in southwestern Ontario with offices in both Chatham-Kent and London, Ontario.
Dan is a leading, accredited real estate appraiser based in southwestern Ontario. With over 20+ years of experience, Dan has distinguished himself through his adaptability and qualifications in a wide array of agricultural, commercial, industrial and residential appraisals.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Housing and Real Estate Management from the University of Guelph, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation through the University of British Columbia. He is accredited though the Appraisal Institute of Canada as an AACI, and holds P.App certification as a Professional Member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada.
Vince Londini , MBA, P. APP, AACI
Lead, Commercial Appraisal & Condominium Services
Vince brings extensive expertise in commercial real estate valuation. He holds the Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation, along with a postgraduate certificate in Real Property Valuation from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
His experience spans a broad range of commercial appraisal assignments, including vacant land, heritage properties, industrial, multi-family, institutional, and commercial properties, with project scopes ranging from a five-unit condominium complex to a one-million-square-foot industrial facility.
In addition, Vince has completed Reserve Fund Planning coursework and specialization through the Real Estate Institute of Canada and holds the Data Professional Certification from Gordian RSMeans™, the industry leader in construction cost databases. He brings close to 5 years of experience directly related to market valuation, insurance valuation, and reserve fund studies.
Vince is actively involved in the professional community, serving as Secretary of the London AIC Chapter and contributing as both a member and presenter with the London Chapter of the Canadian Condominium Institute.
Outside of work, Vince enjoys computer gaming, reading, and cycling—when he’s not measuring windows on heritage buildings or inspecting rooftops with his camera drone.
Scott Van Haren
Commercial & Agricultural Appraiser (Candidate)
Scott Van Haren has been involved in Ontario agriculture since he worked with his father on the family farm in 1989.
He attended the University of Guelph graduating in 1993 and actively farmed with his father and brother until 1997 when he returned to school to pursue commercial business. He later acquired commercial real estate in the London area and operated a small animal veterinary clinic with his wife and business partner. They also raised a family on a farm in Elgin County.
In 2023, looking for new challenges in life, Scott returned to study at the University of British Columbia to complete his Post Graduate Certificate in Valuation and is working as a Candidate Member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada at Oakview Appraisals where he specializes in the appraisal of all types of agricultural and rural properties.
Scott enjoys hiking and camping around Ontario, driving Friesian horses and walking the family dogs. He is also a member of the St. Thomas Railway City Rotary Club and is active in the Rotary Youth Exchange.
